Crysis Mods
From Crysis - inCrysis Wiki
Obsidian Edge II
- Obsidian Edge II: Theatre of War is the sequel to Obsidian Edge (modification developed for FarCry) and is to built using an official pre-software development kit (which will be available to the general public after the launch of Crysis). Crytek are also offering a range of support to the development of the mod.
- Project lead Soroc started creating modifications after seeing firsthand the ease of use of the FarCry Sandbox tool. “When I saw the ease with which levels could be created with FarCry's Sandbox tool I was hooked”. This soon lead to the creation of new multiplayer levels and then the first beta of Obsidian Edge in February 2005. A full release came shortly after. While Obsidian Edge was a major success (with over 30,000 downloads). Soroc believes that it never reached mass market due to it’s late release. With work already commenced on Obsidian Edge II, a release date is projected to be within a 30-60 day window after the release of Crysis.
- Obsidian Edge II: Theatre of War will again focus heavily on stealth and tactics. The player will be required to lead assaults on enemy held positions, seek out and eliminate hostiles, perform coordinated missions, and fight for their own survival. The mod will be focused around a squad-based experience – “we want to deliver a game that isn't a spawn/kill/die/respawn experience but rather a game where you have to employ every skill and strategy to defeat your human opponents”. Consequences of your game play and decisions play a big part in the game design also. While run & gun tactics may work at times often it will get you killed and jeopardize the rest of your team.
- While many of the features from Obsidian Edge will remain – including "bullet-spin" (the physical reaction to getting hit by a round fired), limited ammunition and realistic cammo, several key features will be added to Obsidian Edge II including squad voice communications, a revised damage model that adds temporary and permanent damage features, Cooperative multiplayer game modes and a buddy/jerk system to allow you to find and avoid other players. Ten to fifteen maps will be included in the first release. Further features are also planned.
- Ten multiplayer game types have been prioritized and will be released progressively. Modes that will likely return from Obsidian Edge are "Team Elimination" (called Last Man Standing), "Free-for-ALL" and "VIP Assassination" (VIP in Obsidian Edge). New modes will likely include "All Out War" - a large scale squad combat mode, "Demolitions Run" - an objective based small squad mode, "Escort" - a new twist on the VIP mode from Obsidian Edge, and "Defiance"- a small to large squad mode where one team has to defend a position while the other team attacks.
- Ten singleplayer missions have been drawn up but are unlikely to appear in the first release.
- Obsidian Edge II: Theatre of War is a modification that is officially supported by Crytek. Crytek will be putting a concerted effort into driving the development and supporting modification teams. They will be offering officially supported modifications help from the Crytek design team ensuring a high caliber of mods.

It will feature original units and recognized areas that were known in Tiberian Sun, as well as add and update on their current design and technologies. It strives to bring the player into the war that rages between NOD and GDI and take it from the overhead RTS classic style into todays genre of a first-person shooter. To clarify, this is NOT a base building mod, but rather one that focuses on the exhausted war and it's environment. Both land and air units will be featured, as well as structures and infantry types. It will also feature many new game modes, such as objective based gameplay, defend/assault, protecting convoys and more.

Stepping Stones: Pacific Theatre
- Stepping Stones: Pacific Theatre is a Realism based mod that recreates the intense Pacific battles of WW2 fought between the Empire of Japan and the United States of America.
- SS:PT will utilize the incredible graphical and physical capabilities of Crytek's eagerly awaited "Crysis", using technologies such as Depth Of Field, Motion Blur and First Person Actor to take realism and immersiveness to a whole new level.
- The core aim of the mod is to provide a gritty, intense and highly immersive experience for the player, we plan to do this by making every aspect of the mod as realistic as possible without ditching the fun aspect of the mod. We want to put the player in the combat boots of a United States or Japanese soldier fighting for his country (and his own life!) in the Pacific Theatre of World War 2. There will be a large emphasis on squadplay in this mod as well, we won't force you to stick with a squad but we plan to make enough advantages for doing so that the player will prefer squadplay to lonewolf combat. We plan to make this a thinking man's first person shooter so Rambo methods will usually just get you killed, and fast(unless you're just really really good).
- SS:PT will feature many of the Pacific's most famous and action packed battles in addition to the critical smaller battles that occured in relative secrecy.
- SS:PT will include different weather conditions including nighttime, thunderstorms, and sunny days in addition to other environmental effects such as fire and smoke to make your experience as a soldier as thrilling and authentic as possible. All vehicles, weapons and locations will be highly detailed and historially accurate to when they actually occured.
- Currently the SS:PT team have most of the gameplay aspects of the game pre-planned and are waiting for the SDK and Crysis to be released before they can start full production!

MechWarrior: Living Legends
Mod Info:
MechWarrior: Living Legends. Will you be a living legend or a forgotten casualty?
MechWarrior: Living Legends (MWLL) is a total conversion modification for Crysis. MWLL is at its very core a mix between a First Person Shooter (FPS) and a Simulation (SIM). This will be achieved through the use of a mixed arms massively multiplayer gaming experience where the player takes part in a battle using a variety of vehicles and weapons. MWLL is using the concepts pioneered by the “Battlefield” franchise and more recently Crysis, of a sandbox feel where you get to play what you want and how you want it. MWLL depicts the epic struggles between the two factions of Battletech “The Clans” and “The Inner Sphere”. Maps will typically have a mix of vehicles and infantry combat, using both of these to complete objectives as a team will be essential to winning rounds or campaigns in MWLL. In the project we will be bringing some of the legends of “MechWarrior” franchise back to life with new art and animations that do justice to these huge weapons of war and also do something that’s never be done before using the deep universe of Battletech. There are so many facets to Battletech and finally comes a title that is willing to explore them.
By the 31st century, humanity has spread to thousands of worlds, while a handful of powerful empires wage continual war for the right to rule the stars. Foremost among the weapons used in that struggle are BattleMechs. Loaded with auto cannons, missile launchers, lasers, and charged-particle beam weapons, these fusion-powered war machines of articulated armor stand upward of ten meters high. Piloting them are MechWarrior’s, the best, most intensively trained men and women available. Like the armored knights of an earlier age, MechWarrior’s are popular heroes, and their exploits are the stuff of legends.
Features:
- Massive, highly detailed outdoor environments.
- Epic multiplayer missions that thrusts players into an ever-changing environment, forcing them to adapt their tactics and approach to conquer battlefields ranging from desert to tundra to alpine.
- Take control of over 28 unique Battlemechs, 4 unique Tanks, 6 original ground vehicles and 8 different types of aircraft including vtol’s.
- Take control of the infamous Battlesuits of the Battletech universe from the Clan “Elemental” to the Inner Sphere “Longinus”
- High Tech “Omni” Vehicles allows gamers to augment their weapons and load outs in real time on the battlefield.
- Players can choose to enhance their speed, strength, armor and electronics through a modular personal weapon and equipment system.
- Take into your hands one of the 30+ handheld weapons and use them against the enemy, be is assault rifles, mini-grenades, laser rifles or hand held Particle Projector Cannons.
- Updated game play engine brings the immense locations to life complete with realistic physics and dynamic lighting.
- Limitless weapon combinations, play how you want, be it a mix between “engineering, and reconnaissance” all weapon combinations are up to the player.
- Team-Based, Strategic Missions
- Unique Factions and weapons unique to each faction with different advantages and disadvantages..
- Take Control of unique strategic assets such as BattleMech factories.

Goldeneye: 00 Heaven
Goal:
To recreate the nintendo64's 1997 smash hit developed by Rareware, GoldenEye007. This modification plans to focus it's release formatt around SinglePlayer levels as increments, allowing for a slow steady build up of playable patches.
Key Element behind Single Player release style
Each level as it is released under the production guidelines (should they meet), is capable of being played 12 single times to completion utilizing the 4 original difficulty branches in conjunction with the 3 seperate animation styles, plus the possibility of time attack elements on each variation of these run-throughs.
Also via scripting and a bit of imagination, 3rd party groups such as clans can work to create for the community, Co-op style scenarios - all while the Development team push on to the next level release to keep fans and followers happy.
Multiplayer?
While its not a strict release focus, as with the original game, attention will be paid to fun among friends and foe - This time around online of course! In the first release there will be the MP level "Library" which via commands and variables such as playercount can be split up into the basement or stack, or combinations of all 3 sublevels should servers choose - thereby enabling a sort of ever changing experience of tactics server to server.
Characters in the first release will be limited to what appears in the Single Player mission, as those are the characters we need created first for our 'Dam' mission. These are :
- James Bond
- Russian Commandant
- Russian Solider
- Siberian Guard
Overall Outline points
- All single player missions
- All multiplayer and single-player maps
- All the weapons and gadgets from the original
- All multiplayer game-modes
- Extra multiplayer game-modes for more online replay (latter patches)
- "All bonds" character bonus (final patches)
- All the cheat options (as they appear in original for time attack)
- The signature Ooo's and Ahh voiced get hit sounds
- The ricochets and mimmicking sound effects throughout game
We need developers to keep us moving forward, however! Specifically 3D department and coders. Then we could use 2D and animators once the Crytek tools become available. Remember all your work you do for us (small or large in amount we dont mind) can display your talent further down the line after study, for your game industry career!
We hope casual fans, and goldeneye nuts alike, enjoy watching this mod come to the forefront of next-gen mods. We certainly have high ambition but a realistic guideline to have a chance of success!

Cuban-Ultima-Doom-Sword Custom Crysis Config V1.31
Ok, Remember when you first played Crysis? And you wanted to see how it looked all maxed out on "HIGH". Only to realize that it slowed your frame rate down to unplayable levels and lagged you out... Forcing you to say goodbye to awesomeness "HIGH" or "VERYHIGH"settings to say hello to UGLY "LOW" settings, so the game would at least run SMOOTH?
Developed by 4 people; with another person who made an awesome custom installer, this config has everything you need to not only run Crysis great; but it also looks better than Very High. It also comes with a custom Time of Day file; which modifies the lighting of Crysis for a realistic look never-before-seen in the Crysis universe.
Even gain some *HIDDEN* DX10 goodness NOT even available on stock XP "HIGH" which you may have never seen. These Configs we created will make your Regular/Original Stock "HIGH" setting look like nothing, and run at frame rates near stock "MEDIUM" and maybe even "LOW". You will never have to play on ingame stock "LOW/MEDIUM" ever again.
After 73+ hours of rigorous testing and configuration; we have completed the Triple C "CCC" version 1.31 project for public release. There are 5 different configs for any computer configuration combination. Level 2 enables High shaders with very smooth frames even on an 8600 GT!
