Shacknews' report on Electronic Arts' fiscal year 2010 update call states that, according to EA Chief Executive Officer John Riccitiello, Crysis in full margins is expected to be released between April 1st, 2010 and March 31st, 2011. EA CEO actually not saying "Crysis 2" has sparked speculations on the possibility of there being more Crysis titles coming out than just Crysis 2. Some websites also pointed out that "full margins" could just be interpreted as "multi-platform release". Also, the February 2010 issue of PC Gamer US magazine recently printed out a release date estimate of October-December 2010 for Crysis 2.
All of this uncertainty is an indication that the release of Crysis 2 could still be a long ways off. We shall see if an upcoming fan interview session with Crytek, hosted by PC Games Hardware, will shed more light on all things Crysis 2, the next hugely anticipated first person shooter from Crytek.
