Dear community, I can understand some of your frustration – firstly not receiving a beta invitation and then finding out that the demo has been delayed. I wanted to take this opportunity to explain and clarify a few things.
The relationship we formed with IGN was out of complete respect for the community and wanting to ensure the community also got access to the beta test.
It involved many emails/meetings and hundreds of hours of work on our end. We didn’t have to do this, but we did and have found it to be hugely rewarding.
We also had an overwhelming response with over 35,000 registrations. We had a limited supply of keys and therefore people were bound to miss out. We would like nothing more to be able to send a key to everyone, but this is out of our control.
The keys for inCrysis were distributed on a number of factors. Firstly, post count, the age of the account, contributions made and a number of other factors. Many have told us that while they don’t have a high post count, the quality of their posts are high and therefore we should offer them a key. I’m sorry, but we have almost 200,000 posts and it simply isn’t feasible to go through each and measure the quality of each. Furthermore, just because you visit everyday like many of you have been telling me, there is no way for us to know this…so please don’t blame us for this. The inCrysis moderating team has provided me with a number of users who have particularly spammy posts and they were subsequently put down on the pecking order. Because of the large number of applications, some users that should have them have slipped through and will need to contact me so I can allocate you a key.
Now there does appear to be some deliverability issues. Quite a few users who have been accepted may have not received invites. inCrysis is not sending these keys – they are done on our behalf. I have followed up on this and hope to have an update on this ASAP. A large number of users have also received duplicate invites. Again, I’m not sure why this has happened, but need to make it VERY CLEAR that those that have received two, MUST send one back to me (

If you need to contact me, please only do so if it’s particularly important. I am absolutely drowned in emails. Emailing me begging for a key without a good reason won’t help your case in anyway.
Cheers
