I had initially been looking forward to playing the demo for months on end, but unfortunately this happens, I'm not sure whether people are even excited about the Sandbox editor being packed with the demo, because they were looking so forward to the demo, which has been delayed.

Oh well - just as John D. Carmack II, the co founder of id Software always says "when it's done".

Yeah, it does happen. sad However, being a programmer I know it can be a tough situation at times to determine when to release software of any kind. Sometimes scope creep sneaks in there and it can delay the final product. I am not saying that this is what happened, but it is one of the many causes for these types of things. Companies get very ambitious and then run into a delay because they find out they can't deliver all of the added features when they thought. It is important to ensure a stable product and I would say crytek made a good choice here! smile

Which would you rather have? The demo now and the game in January 2008? Or the demo later and the game when it was promised? I don't know about you, but I would be more concerned with getting the final game as soon as we can. smile It is not as easy as you think to make a demo either. If I am not mistaken, they have to branch the code off into seperate development to ensure that they can lock down features that they don't want to be released in the demo. smile After all, if you were releasing a demo would you want your whole game in there? People wouldn't pay for it then! smile After branching the code, they have to test it to ensure that it is as stable as the final game! I hope this clears it up for you! smile

Re: Sandbox Editor coming with the demo - Message from Cevat

IMO this is bad news. Launched with the editor? Well, Sandbox 2 will arrive with the game one month later anyway, this one don't change the things alot.

But the delay changes many, many things, because the message is: "OMFG, Crysis can't run at decent framerrate (maximun settings) at 1680 x 1050 with the strongest card in the market". My words are not based on facts -because I'm not in the beta and can't talk about how well/bad runs these build- but it will be the natural hypothesis to many people.

Honestly I'm annoying, it would be a lot better to not sign a date than mark one and fail triying to match it. Feed doubts about the date to the game launchship.

well dont make statements like that

because some of us are in the beta...

and yea it performs at those settings with Unbelievable Framerates...

so save your hypothesis for something else

Oh man! I was so pumped up for the demo next week but at least there's the beta to satisfy our urges and hunger. Crysis will be a great game and of course it is.

My god people, it's just one more day, so that they can add Sandbox 2. Some of you people are overreacting over a demo being released 1 day later than expected. One, ****, DAY! Get over it already.

Anywho, I wonder what all will be available with the Sandbox 2 demo?

One month.

September 25th --> October 26th.

But yeah, I really don't care since I'm not planning to upgrade until the last minute anyway tongue

Re: Sandbox Editor coming with the demo - Message from Cevat

well i found out why i kept getting bsod on my pc, my beloved 8800 gtx fan was not working on the card sad so now i have to rma it and wait for it to be fixed or replaced. so the demo delay doesnt bother me as much as it would have if i still had the 8800 running ok smile the editor coming with the demo is great news. the more this game is delayed the better polished it will be, ive been patient up to now so i can wait a little bit longer. has incrysis given out any of the beta keys yet? i hope not cause i didnt get one sad so this is a good chance for them to let me test out my cra*py geforce 7100 gt on the beta hehe.

Re: Sandbox Editor coming with the demo - Message from Cevat

They better make that MP beta public to compensate for this... I've been waiting for 2 weeks and now they just delay it another month..
