Hi everyone,

We have some news to announce.

First, I am sorry for the bad news - the Crysis single player demo will now be available everywhere on October 26th, 2007.
We are taking some extra time to make sure you that you have an amazing experience but also we did not want to risk the release date of Crysis at this stage. To get the game into your hands by November the 16th, we had to make this call.

Now the good news - the big surprise. The SP demo will be released with our CryEngine 2 - Sandbox 2 game editor, giving the community the opportunity to get familiar with the vast amount of tools they will have at their disposal four weeks before we ship, something we have always wanted to do.

This is an exciting time for us at the studio as the development of Crysis comes to an end and we are only a few weeks from Gold Master.
We appreciate your patience and are looking forward to getting Crysis into your hands on November 16th.

I understand why, but it still sucks none the less to announce this 4 days before everyone was supposed to get it, and everyone was excited for.....is there any way to get some sort of tech demo at least? nothing playable, but something to just look at to see what its like with all the physics and stuff.

Crytek is doing an awesome job, keep it up, and getting the SB2 with the demo is just amazing

Who cares about the sandbox editor. Instead of a "huge surprise" just keep your promises you lying bunch of german hippies. Maybe this was the "huge surprise", why am I not surprised?

I had initially been looking forward to playing the demo for months on end, but unfortunately this happens, I'm not sure whether people are even excited about the Sandbox editor being packed with the demo, because they were looking so forward to the demo, which has been delayed.

Oh well - just as John D. Carmack II, the co founder of id Software always says "when it's done".

I'm checking this site regularly, I just signed up though, to share some ANGER!

The EU should fine Crytek for 100 billion euro for these delay tricks. It's so predictable, and all gaming studios do it. An example should be made!

About the Sandbox editor. Some people will be happy with it, others don't care.

Anyway, if the final release date will be delayed I just won't buy Crysis, but I'll just buy competing and inferior games, not to play them, but just to burn them on my balcony in Amsterdam. Good for CO2.

Besides if they delay the final release, it won't even be released before a possible great economic depression, so they won't sell it anyway.

Let's just all have our prehistoric-MAN behaviour hit the surface and just say 'GRRR'.

Well, this is bad and good news at the same time lol, to bad for the demo delay, but I guess the big surprise is the Sandbox Editor 2, which I would believe is a demo as well or else a lot of people may not buy Crysis.

NICE!, this is worth the delay of the demo. Man this is going to increase the re playability of the demo by a lot.

The people who think this is bad news must not have used the Sandbox editor in Far Cry.
