**RULES UPDATE** 6/21/08   [IMP] 24/7 MESA DAY/NIGHT

I am sure most players have seen our server, but a lot of you are unaware of all the mods we have done to make it a unique & enjoyable experience. 

NEWEST ADDITIONS:

-SlOWED DOWN ENERGY DRAIN FOR SPRINT (YOU CAN RUN A LITTLE FARTHER NOW)
-MODIFIED MAIN BASE HP.  THE MAIN BASE NOW HAS 2X THE HP!
-ADDED POLICE CARS (BUY A HEAVY GUASS VEHICLE & USE HORN)- PRICE IS 200PP
-INCREASED "OUT OF AREA" WARNING TO 12 SECONDS ON MESA FOR MAP BORDER
-AIR FACTORY-  YOU NO LONGER NEED TO GO INSIDE THE BUILDING TO BUY AIRCRAFT/WEAPONS
-INCREASED THE RELOAD RANGE FOR HELO OVER BASE BY 15 METERS. 
-REPLACED AAA WITH GUASS ICV (450)
Our mods include:

-INCREASED HELO COST TO 750
-LIMITED AMOUNT OF HELOS PER TEAM (2) & INCREASED BUILD TIME & REMOVE QUEUE
-HELO MISSLES ARE 200 FOR 5.  USING MISSLES ON INFANTRY IS NOT COST EFFECTIVE ANYMORE.
-REMOVED VTOLS –Buying a VTOL spawns a truck ( rules spam every 100 seconds stating this)
-INCREASED AA TO 450/INCREASED BUILD TIME SINCE THEY ARE NOW WORKING
-REMOVED TK PENALTY OF 200P (YOU CAN STILL BE KICKED FOR TK LIMIT)
-INCREASED INITAL PRESTIEGE/PRIVATE PRESIGE TO 225P
-RANK PRESTIGE INCREASED FOR ALL RANKS
-SLOWED DOWN ENERGY GENERATION TIME (ENERGY SITES ARE IMPORTANT NOW)
-NIGHT/DAY SERVER MOD TO ALL MAPS
-DROPPED SPAWN TRUCK PRICE DOWN TO 250
-TAKES LONGER TO ACHIVE COLONEL/GENERAL RANKS (SORRY STAT MONGERS)
-INCREASED TO A MAXIMUM OF 2 GENERALS PER TEAM
-RIFLE GRENADE LAUNCHER (175PP)/NADES (100) PRICE INCREASED TO LIMIT SPAMMING
-INCINDERARY AMMO REMOVED
-YOU CAN NOW LAY 4 AV MINES/4 CLAYMORES AGAIN
-LIMITED TAC/SING TANKS  (2)/(1) PER TEAM
-BINOCS ARE 10 PRESTIEGE
-DEFUSING ENEMY MINES GIVES YOU MORE PRESTIEGE
-ADDED POLICE CARS(BUY A HEAVY GUASS VEHICLE)
-MODIFIED MAIN BASE HP.  THE MAIN BASE NOW HAS 2X THE HP!

We also have a lot of little tweaks that we do not advertise.  Come on our server & find them for yourself!



OUR SERVER RULES

A lot of folks are curious as to our rules & the reason we implement them. Here is a listing of our server rules as well as an explanation behind their usage on our servers. We want everyone to have an enjoyable experience & we will not tolerate violations of our rules. If you do not care for the rules or find they are too restrictive for your tastes you are free to find another server.

-NO Nukes: (anything that has a nuke symbol) until 100 minutes  (Mesa/beach)  We use this rule to prevent the “9 minute nukers” as well as folks that feel the need to buy a nuke early in the game & run around spamming them.

**IF YOU DO SPAM THEM YOU MIGHT FIND ONE OF OUR ADMINS HAS TURNED FRIENDLY FIRE ON**

*We have recently edited the times for nuking to reflect the new changes to the power generation curve. It is now more important than ever to hold energy sites, as they generate power at almost half the rate they were prior to the changes.

-No Helo’s until 9v9

-No tanks with the exception of the ICV until 5v5

-Parking or driving on/or near helo pad: This is self-explanatory & a violation of this rule will result in an immediate kick w/o notice. We have way too many people that find it funny to TK or destroy aircraft.

-Team Stealing: This means taking any vehicle that was purchased. Stealing is a serious offense & will result in a BAN. That means- IF IT’S NOT YOURS DON’T TOUCH IT! This means reinforcement trucks, too.   

-Bunker camping with helo’s.   Helping your team take a bunker is fine, but hovering over an enemy bunker to kill infantry is frowned upon.  Kicking is at the admins’ discretion.   

-Base Raping: This entails a number of things, including:

-Sitting outside of a base with a tank with an intent other than taking out base defenses or protecting a nuke tank.

-Sitting outside or over a base with a helo picking off infantry/vehicles/aircraft as they leave.
-Sniping into bases or shooting people/vehicles as they leave

-Mining the exits of their base

-Base Exploit: Sitting inside your base & attacking people in other areas of the map i.e.:

-Sniping from inside your base

-Parking a vehicle in or behind the base to avoid being shot with the intent to attack others from that position


HAVING TANKS AT A BUNKER IS NOT BASE RAPING.  IF YOU ARE A AT A BUNKER & THERE ARE 3 TANKS, 15 INFANTRY, AND A HELO OVER YOU...SPAWN SOMEWHERE ELSE...THE ONLY LOCATION PROTECTED FROM RAPING IS THE MAIN BASE.


MODDED PRICE LISTING:

XXX-VTOL (Restricted-Will spawn a truck!)
750-Helicopter (Limit 2 per Team)
450-Anti-Aircraft Artillery (SPAWNS GAUSS ICV)
250-Respawn Truck (need 300 to push button)
175-Grenade Launcher
100-Grenade Launcher Grenades
XXX-Incind Ammo (Restricted)
010-Binocs
050-Sniper Scope
750-Gauss Rifle
10-Gauss Rifle Reload


***ADDENDUM***

I know some people think we have too many rules, and that we yell a lot. All the rules I have on this server have 1 thing in mind- Balance. People that base rape the main US/NK base usually have only 1 goal- stat padding. Base raping does several things;

-Pads the stats of the raper
-Ensures no one else can get any kills
-Causes people to leave
-Ensures no one has any fun

That is the reason why we don't allow it. Another thing we don't allow is helo campers. If you want to make a few strafe runs over a bunker, fine, np. But just sitting there milking kills is not acceptable. This does not apply to tanks or infantry. If the bunker you are at is surrounded by 3 tanks, 5 infantry, and 4 snipers I dont' want to hear you complaining about getting killed or "bunker camping" If you don't like to die...Spawn somewhere else.


To clear up some confusion on what main base raping is I will clarify the limits.

Shooting anyone that is in range of their own defenses is base raping. In otherwords, if the defenses were operational & you were standing where you shot the person & the defenses would take you out, it's rape.

As far as nuking is concerned, you are allowed to have an escort to protect the nuke. Once the nukes have been released, or the nuke destroyed you must leave. There is no sitting around, "I'll milk a few before the admins catch me" allowed. If you are caught you will be kicked.

Nuking in proto...Once is fine if you have to...Do it more than that & you may find that FF has been turned on.


If there are any other questions regarding "why" I have set certain rules on our server feel free to post. Bottom line we are just trying to balance the game a little more for people that want to have fun, while making this server less enjoyable for those that only want to pad their stats.

I must say I really like these modifications. Since the time limit on the large maps is 90? minutes, the original rate of energy gain was so fast that both teams were guaranteed to have 100% energy within 30-40 minutes of play. Now the much slower energy rate gain coincides perfectly with the longer match time.

I'm anxious to see how the helo limit per team changes overall gameplay.

If only there could be a way to lock your Reinforcement truck....

The time on big maps is 120 minutes. So far, it had worked out pretty good. But you could have 3 helos at a time becasue of the queuing.

Oh come on,those rules are really really hard...

You are not allowed to snipe INTO bases,and you are not allowed to snipe OUTSIDE of bases?
So,why don't you just remove the sniper gun?

You should alter those rules,some really aren't needed...
I mean,wtf do you think should a sniper do?

He kills!
He can't capture anything and therefor,activitly help his team.
But he takes out enemy infrantry.

If this really violates your server rules,you should really remove that....

Just like in CSS server which have the "1 shot kill sniper rifle" locked.
It's part of the game and should be used by the player as he wishes to.

I call that freedom,and that is fun,and that is what the game is all about.

BANNING everyone who could POSSIBLY piss someone off with his gun,isn't a good idea...

Ghost, they've established the main base of each team as a "safe zone". No base raping, and no using the base for protection while attacking others. You can't shoot into the main bases, and you can't shoot from within the main bases. Both are cheap tactics and spoil gameplay. [The latter is somewhat necessitated by the first.]

There is no restriction whatsoever on sniping anywhere else on the map, so long as people are allowed to enter and leave their main base unharmed.

I think a few rules are ridiculous too. A couple I agree with that really affect game play balance in a negative way. Others I do not.

But, it's not my server. It's theirs. They can do as they please. Though this will be one I will steer clear of.

Btw - IMO sniping out of the base is a very last resort and only done when it is absolutely necessary (f.e. defense against camper). However, you make the rules and it looks like a big improvement :-)

Lol you need to read a little more closely.  You are not allowed to snipe from WITHIN your base, as it would be exploiting the fact that people cannot shoot into your base. 


The base is your 1 safe haven to allow you to coordinate without some vtol or tank sitting outside the doorsof your main base killing you before you can even leave.   You are allowed to snipe from anywhere else on the map.


As far as the need to snipe as a last resort- We have very active admins that will warn & then kick anyone that is base raping.

I have no problem providing you with an explaination as to why any of the rules you are concerned about are implimented on our server.

In my opinion the rules work nicely.  It makes for a much more enjoyable gameplay for powerstruggle.  To many people try to rack up kills and pay no attention whatsoever to the objective of PS.  IMO, if you want to play like a nub go play in a nub server.  The only complaint I have is that there's no Desolation in the mapcycle (hurry up Crytek with an autoDL).

yeah as soon as the auto-downloader works we will definitely be incorporating the new maps into our rotation.  We will probably switch to a Mesa-->Crossroads-->Beach-->Desolation-->Plantation/Shore rotation.

Honestly, some people love it, the other half hate it. Those who hate the rules are usually the ones who can't follow them. We have strived to keep our server as fun and entertaining for those of us who have played day after day month after month since beta/release. Our rotation right now is just Mesa/Refinery/Beach.

But if you want to whine about it, im glad you're doing it here instead of in the server. There are plenty of other servers out there that have no mods and have hackers/cheater/sploiters running around, have fun joining one of them.

This is not a thread for kicking, it is a thread explaining our server rules & mods.  Do not hijack threads ith "why was I kicked questions"  THey will no longer be answered here.  If you have a question regarding a kick or ban go to our site & make a post.  (and BTW I did not kick you, I was just asking if you had modified cvars-heck  I don't remember seeing a person with yourname in our server)

well i can't find your site and i can't pm you, and btw its all tanks on refinery, except icv. not all maps. that makes sense because refinery is like an infantry map.. so its a good balance

It is a pleasure playing on your server, Eden. I feel comfortable and safe from hackers with very active admins banning any hacker that dare comes into your server. I look forward into playing in it more and more.

I really enjoy all the rules except for the nuke time.

It kind of takes away a lot of the motivation in the game, generally both teams will get full power long before the time is allowed (unless one team really sucks). So It kind of make the first half of the game and power node system compleatly irrelivent.
Seeing the enemys power charging and knowing that as soon as I let it reach full they get nukes really makes me want to keep them from having those power nodes.
Setting the power charge slower should keep the game going longer in itself.
But its your server so do as you with.. just a thought.
