Hey I have this error too! It follows with "FDI servor error"

i had simmilar problems with other games like starker for instance. Try copy the whole dvd to your harddrive and install from there sometimes that works if it does'nt then return your game to be replaced. If you got it from ea loader you will have to delete all the files in the loader cache and download the whole thing again.

i got it to work the ol fashion way lol, i tried installing it on another computer and it was successful, so i then just copied the entire folder and pasted it into the program folder on my comp which wouldnt install. Then i went in the reg and extracted the game binary and then uploaded it onto the other comp. Then all u do is play the game lol works great!!
Ive also had issues like this and so far every time i do this it works perfect ![]()

Guys or Girls,
I seem to have the same problem. got my cd delivered, then loaded it to find the same ERROR 1335. So i made sure every component driver/firmware was up to date for Vista (32bit). ERROR 1335 again. So i changed the disk at the store, unfortunatley the same F&*king problem. Does someone know what this error is and how to fix it (rather than loading on 2no PC's). Your help would be much apprieciated.

Fix
One or more of the following suggestions might help with this issue:
Reboot the machine and try the installation again.
Clean the CD-ROM. Use a soft cloth to gently clean the disc.
Run the install locally by copying the installation files to your local hard drive.
Using Windows Explorer browse to the location of the installation files. For example, if the installation is on a CD, browse to the CD-ROM drive:
Copy all the contents of the installation location.
Temporarily paste them to a location on your local hard drive. For example, the Desktop.
Run the install file, for example, setup.exe or install.exe.
Install the Windows Installer Engine.

Ahh, sounds like you need to update your Windows Installer
Offline
just tried that link but that installer for download is not supported by vista - still not working
Offline
Vista uses Windows Installer 4.0. There isn't any redistributable available for that version. Basically, it just installs with Vista. v4.5 is in production, but that is besides the point...
I think you guys are having DVD reading issues with your drives. Can you guys begin listing them please? You guys might need a firmware update to read the DVD. You can check your firmware version with Nero CD-DVD Speed. Update your firmware as needed.

Afflix - Loading onto another PC sounds like a good idea. Can you explain how to do this bit - "in went in the reg and extracted the game binary and then uploaded it onto the other comp"?
Thanks.

Oki here is where you went wrong when launching the installer from HD dont run the crysis exe that will give you a cd key loader problem. Make sure to copy all the files and directories then run the autorun.exe that will show the installer menu and there you go you should be able to install just fine

I've the same problem, but with the sound~.cab file. I've tried all the suggestions in this thread and others. Nothing, I mean nothing seems to fix this error...
running on xp sp2 (fully up to date) with 4 gig ram, 8800gts card, lots of space, brand new build, updated the windows installer, all that junk. Waiting on tech support to get back to me...
Other suggestions?
thx

I tried almost every suggestion from this thread and one from EA, and finally found a helpful suggestion in the EA forum (from Gurgle93):
http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/crys … 335-a.html
I can't believe it, but the USB idea worked.
This is what I did:
1. copy the DVD to the hard drive
2. put DVD in a different computer and copy offending file (levels3.cab in my case) to a USB drive
3. delete offending file from original computer
4. paste the file from the USB drive to where you deleted it from the original computer
5. launch the autoruncd.exe from the hard drive, put in the CD key, etc.
Thank you very much to Gurgle93!
p.s. I think the root cause had something to do with other software on my computer (like 7-zip), or other running processes interfering with the install, as suggested by ElDude here:

I had that same error and tried everything I could think of, or find in the forums, including copying DVD contents to hard drive and installing from there, reinstalling InstallShield, updating DVD drive drivers, etc. Finally, I replaced my DVD drive with an older one I had, and BINGO, installed right away and has been playing great. I had previous issues with that DVD drive so, I think that was the problem. Potential Windows corruption is also possible, so if changing drives doesn't work, can reinstall or restore Windows.

Well, this solution solved my problem, hopefully someone will benefit.
Nothing was working on xp, sp2, fully patched loaded with 4 gig of ram on a Gigabyte S-series motherboard with an 8800gts, with a SATA drive and SATA and IDE DVDs. I tried all the fixes, all the tricks that I could find, all the patches to installer, etc. I was at it for weeks, and about to send the game back. I decided to try one more thing: I loaded vista on a 250 gig IDE and lo and behold, with nothing running but Vista 32bit, Crysis comes up and runs well. Go figure.
Hope someone can use this to fix their install.
cheers

Sorry to drag this up again!
I'm a relative newcomer to computers so please excuse me for my ignorance.
I have tried several times to install the game to my laptop (XP Pro) from the cd rom but keep getting the error message 1335.
To try and eliminate as many possibilities as possible I tried installing the game on my desktop (Xp Media Centre) and, surprise surprise, it installed no problem.
I cant actually run the game on my desktop because of the game's minimum requirements but this has, I think, ruled out the possibility of the disc being faulty.
Now, as I understand it, it should be possible to copy the extracted files from my desktop, put these on to a flash drive then replace the corrupted files on my laptop.
When I tried this the files I looked at were "read only"- to be blunt I really have'nt got a clue exactly what files I should be looking for on the desktop and where these are.
Could some one post an idiots guide and a step by step procedure what I should be doing.
Thanks a million.

The EA forum suggests that if you have WinRAR installed, uninstall it because it associates itself with essential .CAB files which Crysis needs to install. If you reinstall WinRAR I suggest that you do not associate it with .CAB files (this can be done when installing or in the preferences menu).

The Crysis DVD is such bullshit. I've got mine installed fine, it's just when I put the CD in, the damn game doesn't want to load. It'd be nice if you didn't have to have the DVD in the PC just to play the game like 90% of PC games...
It does load eventually, but I have to play with the ****.

Hey Guys/Girls,
It is not a Crysis issue and I have this problem (ERROR 1335) with several games from Crysis to FSX, including Company of Heroes etc. IT ALL HAPPENED AFTER I HAVE INSTALLED WINDOWS VISTA 32, basically because I upgrade my video card and wanted to use DirectX 10.
I have disabled firewall, antivirus and internet connection, as several people recommended. It have worked out only with FSX, ALL OTHER GAMES continue to show same FU###ng ERROR 1335. I tried copying all to the hard drive, etc, etc, etc. NOTHING SEEMS to work.
IT NEVER HAPPENED WHEN I WAS USING WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL EDITION.
MY CLUE??? I will install XP once again and lets see....
I am pretty sure windows XP will solve the problem.
If you are using XP already.....try a holy mary, our father or something like that...angels and saints may help to..I AM SO FRUSTRATED...I hope XP solves it!
