Discussion of Crytek's Crysis games

Finally, a solution, thanks to doggfather in another thread:
I know the solution. You have to activate your code.
http://www.ea.com/ealink/
Enter your code at the bottom.
Tada, and it freaking works. Be funny if that would've worked 12 hours ago, because that's about how long I've had the game installed on my drive, just couldn't "verify" it.

So have you actually played the demo without crashing or anything like that?

Yes, it was my solution. But i myself can not register. I have really big problems creating an EA classic screen name. HOW DO I DO THIS?!

Offline
If you do it right you get a screen that says this:
Game Successfully Activated and Registered
Your game has been successfully activated and registered to account *******@gmail.com.
If this was a digital download game:
1) Install the EA Download Manager
2) Login with this account and begin your download.
I didn't have to "begin my download" since I already had it installed. I didn't really play it but the fact that it's up and running is good enough for me, since I got past the verification, which used to be impossible with the 32-bit version.

Spriggan, you better report to us on performance, etc. man. This is just cruel for us non-preorderers!

what code are you talking about

On your order summary page, next to the download link you should see an "unlock code" that basically looks just like a CD key. It's the same one you use to install the demo. I'm gonna go test it some more in a bit.

I'm not sure. All I had to do was login just as I normally do, my e-mail and password were already saved from before. You should be using the exact same e-mail and password that you use to access your order at EAstore.com.

Spriggan, can you at least verify that the game works even after you hit the water - IF it works at all?
Please give us some news here.

It works 100%, got off the water and onto the beach and everything. I'll upload a pic in a sec.
Bad news: I hit "optimal settings" and it set every single setting to "very high", which made me happy. But then it started the game up and the opening cinematic ran at only 15 FPS. I figured, okay, just the cinematic, but when I got onto the beach and started walking around, I was still only getting 15 FPS. Might have to turn a couple settings down, everything was on very high. Seems like you'll need a truly monster rig to run it on very high at acceptable framerates.
I'm disappointed though because the sandbox editor offers basically the same performance.
As far as my rig:
Q6600 - quad @ 2.4 ghz
2gb RAM
8800GTX OC'd
Vista Ultimate 32-bit

What resolution are we talking about ? DX10 ? Operating system ? And are we talking "highest , highest" ?

It works. I have an 8800GTS 640MB, 2GB RAM, and an E6750. I run it at 1280x768 with no AA, and everything on very high except for shadows, volumetric effects, and sound which are all on either high or medium (shadows, being as I don't mind them much). It doesn't run amazingly smooth, but it is playable and looks great.

I don't know if "very high" is the absolute highest, but it appears to be, though there are probably some unlockable settings.
That's at 1680x1050 resolution, and Vista Ultimate 32-bit like I said. 15-20 FPS in very high.

New Nvidia drivers optimized for the Crysis demo just came out, they could improve performance. I'll let you guys know after I install them.
